Congratulations to Hawkins/Walker on Securing the 2020 Green Party Nomination

July 13, 2020 - National Action Committee

Almost nine months ago, the Socialist Party National Convention overwhelmingly voted to embark on a new course of electoral action. This nomination was made in the knowledge that he was also seeking the Green Party nomination, as well as support from across the US Left as a whole. full statement

Beyond Bernie: An Open Letter to Sanders Supporters

April 13, 2020 - National Action Committee

If we have learned one thing from Bernie Sanders’ two presidential campaigns, it is that radical politics cannot be advanced from within the Democratic Party. This is not a criticism of the hard work done by countless volunteers on the Sanders campaign, but an indictment on a party that will do everything up to and including rigging its own presidential primaries to prevent meaningful change. full statement

Statement on the Aftermath of Hurricane Maria

June 12, 2018 - National Action Committee

A research team led by scientists at Harvard's T.H. Chan Public School of Health published a study in The New England Journal of Medicine that illustrated that 4,645 human lives were lost in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. This is a figure that lies in stark contrast to the "official" death toll of 64, announced by Puerto Rico's Department of Public Safety and reported by the American press. The study's authors wrote that "in our survey, interruption of medical care was the primary cause of sustained high mortality rates in the months following the hurricane."
