On Sat. Sept. 12 Socialist Party-Green Party candidate for President Howie Hawkins spoke at a rally in Townsend Park in Albany. The event was co-sponsored by CDSP, UHGP, and Socialist Alternative- Schenectady. Speakers from each of the co-sponsors spoke, as did other Green Party candidates in other local races. The crowd was very enthusiastic and Howie's speech was very well received. He addressed the wide range of issues the campaign is running on, and highlighted the important systemic interaction and feedback between all of these issues. Howie also emphasized how multiple crises are now converging and that it is imperative for the working class to break out of the trap of the bourgeoisie's political duopoly.
